OUR PROCESS

We know protecting the investment you’ve made in your new tops is sometimes just as important as the selection process. We encourage you to use our Stone Shop cleaner on any product you receive from us, helping prolong the life of the product and sealers used during installation. A damp cloth on any surface is a good way to clean the tops on a regular basis as well. If a natural stone such as granite, marble, limestone or quartzite is installed, we encourage you to have us professionally clean and seal your tops once a year to protect the finish of the stone.

Are you building a home or looking to renovate your space? Contact The Stone Shop to get in touch with our expert team to help make the process simple and easy. We would be happy to help with countertops, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, tub surrounds and anywhere else you can dream of using stone. Give us a call at 515- 777-2756 or stop into our showroom located at 801 SW Ordnance Rd in Ankeny.

Please stop in anytime Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm, bringing with you a cabinet layout or a sketch of your space with detailed measurements. You are also welcome to email us with these measurements. From that, and with an idea of the material you would be interested in, we are happy to do a complimentary estimate for your project to give you an idea of where we fall within your budget. Our estimate will include a professional field measure, fabrication and professional installation of your new stone unless otherwise noted. We also can estimate for you tear-out and removal, plumbing and options of upgraded edge profiles if you wish.

With the latest technology on the market, we can customize any project to fit your design. With so many design options, let our lead designer, Meredith Avaux, help bring your vision to life. Want to see all of your options or have a material and color in mind? Meet at your convenience during our normal business hours with our selection staff.

Walk through The Stone Shop’s beautifully designed showroom and slab warehouse and see our wide variety of stones including but not limited to granite, marble, quartz, quartzite, precious stones, and more for your choosing. Details such as stone backsplash, sinks, faucets and edge profiles will also be a part of the selection process.

After confirmation of the details on your project and a deposit made, we will schedule one of our professional templators to come and measure for your new stone. We ask that the space be clear of anything that would be in the way of the lasers and all cabinets set in their final place. This will ensure the shapes and measurements taken will install just as planned.

After selections are finalized and we have been to your home for a field measure, meet with our programmer, Matt Ross, to view the design layout before your stone is cut. If the pattern on your material varies, this is a good way to visualize the way the tops will look from a bird’s eye view. If a layout is waived or your material choice features a consistent pattern and color, rest assured our design staff will use their expertise from many years working with these materials to ensure your install will look it’s absolute best.

With the best and most advanced technology on the market, our water-jet machines work with the programming software giving accurate measurements to cut your stone. Stop by our shop to take a tour if you would like to see first hand the process and machinery.

All of our professional installers have years of experience. Rest assured we will treat your home as though it is our own, perfecting the details of your selections and fine tuning the install to your project
